Sol de Janeiro Debuts Destination Drop Perfume Mists

Perfumers talk about their creations that expand the Cheirosa portfolio.

Just in time for spring break, Sol de Janeiro’s limited-edition Destination Drop perfume mists are now available at SoldeJaneiro.com.

Inspired by “carefree escapes” and designed to be layered with the brand’s Cheirosa scents, the three new mists help “transition” one’s fragrance wardrobe into spring while “bringing the brand’s ‘Make Life Cheirosa’ philosophy to life,” said the beauty company.

The limited-edition scents include Cheeky Biquíni, Limonada Gelada and Refresco Paraíso.

The mists feature notes like apricot nectar, crushed orange blossom, Brazilian lemonade accord, rainforest orchid and Brazilian blue cactus.

Perfumers’ Perspective

Happi connected with the perfumers on the collection. Here is what they had to say about their creations:

Sol de Janeiro Refresco Paraíso: “Refresco Paraíso was born from the feeling of being fully immersed in the lush, living rhythm of the rainforest. I was inspired by that moment after the rain, when every scent feels heightened: Wild rainforest orchid, dewy banana leaves, and the sharp green freshness of Brazilian blue cactus. It’s a fragrance that invites you to lose yourself in nature—wild, free, and fully alive.” —Olivia Jan, perfumer

Sol de Janeiro Cheeky Biquini: Cheeky Biquíni Perfume Mist captures the liberating spirit of ‘Apricot Beach’ in Brazil, where the sun kisses your skin, the air is infused with a salty breeze, and the energy of the beach pulses with sensuality. Apricot nectar evokes that sweet, tropical freedom, while the heart of crushed orange blossom adds a delicate yet exotic floral touch. A finish of sheer vanilla is reminiscent of the sun setting on the horizon.” —Elena Valdivieso-Ruiz, perfumer

Sol de Janeiro Limonda Gelada: “This fragrance was born from a moment suspended in sunshine, where zesty Brazilian lemonade swirls with vanilla milk and musk to form a delicious reprieve from the heat. Limonda Gelada Perfume Mist smells like a dessert dancing under the sun, kissed by sugarcane and wrapped in the soft embrace of blonde woods. It’s an ode to summer’s sweetest escape.” —Claude Dir and Patricia Choux, perfumers

Solid Scents

The company continues to innovate in the personal care space with its first solid fragrance format, Jelly Perfume Balm, available in three scent variations, as reported in Happi.

The alcohol-free balms are said to leave a translucent finish and a concentrated scent that lasts up to 10 hours, per the brand. The Jelly Perfume Balm is available in Cheirosa 62, Cheirosa 68 and Cheirosa 40.

The brand is “reinventing fragrances in a portable, mess-free format that’s perfect for a night out, a vacation getaway or even post-workout,” the Happi International Top 30 company contends.

Spate Insight

According to Spate in a recent report, it’s hard to imagine a time when one signature scent was the standard, as consumers have shifted toward fragrance wardrobes and scent stacking.

“Not only are people more obsessed with fragrance notes, but they’re also more open to experimenting with different formats,” said Spate in its report.

Right now, the top format-driven fragrance trends, according to Spate’s Popularity Index, are edible perfumes and solid perfumes.

Solid perfume, also known as perfume concrete or balm, is a fragrance that comes in a “solid, wax-based, candle-esque form” rather than a liquid. The trend has grown by +132.3% compared to last year, said Spate.
